Interdisciplinary is an important objective in Agrispace. I this text, three different methods for interdisciplinary research is elaborated and discussed.
Three different methods for interdisciplinary research:
Multi-disciplinary research is non-iterative research that focuses on disciplinary action(s) within a specific research field, but with results shared by other disciplines and/or work packages.
Inter-disciplinary research is problem focused iterative research coordinated between disciplines and/or work packages where effort is made to cross epistemological and ontological boundaries, but stopping short of the development of the research fields.
Trans-disciplinary research is a holistic problem focusing approach involving stakeholders and scientists that co-develops knowledge with a clear objective of both resolving the problem and synthesizing new disciplines and theories.
